hep named one of the “Top Solar Contractors 2023” in the USA
Huntersville, North Carolina, July 31, 2023 – As the United States provides significant government support for solar projects and storage under the Inflation Reduction Act, demand for these technologies is growing at a record pace. Solar developers, installers and entrepreneurs are taking advantage of the moment and building larger projects across the country. hep was recognized for its activities in the US solar market with a top spot in the solar developer category on the list of “Top Solar Contractors 2023” by the trade journal Solar Power World.
Among the top ten
The Top Solar Contractors list is compiled each year by Solar Power World magazine to recognize the work of solar installers in the United States. Utility, commercial, and residential solar companies are ranked by the number of kilowatts installed in the previous year and grouped by specific service, market, and state. hep is ranked 9th in the solar developer category.

In 2022, hep finalized 48.9 MW solar projects in Oregon, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Massachusetts and New Jersey. The portfolio consisted primarily of utility-scale projects and included a 21.4 MW depot solar project in Rustburg, Virginia – hep’s largest project to date in the US. With a “Community Solar” portfolio of six projects in Oregon, hep rose to become the state’s #5 solar developer on the list of Top Solar Contractors.
Growing US solar market
The US reported 2023’s strongest first quarter ever in terms of installed solar panels and the solar market is expected to triple over the next five years. hep’s growing development pipeline and EPC capabilities will keep the company at the forefront to meet the demands of a growing solar industry.
