The halls of the Royal Rinking in Ixelles might be transformed into housing, following the request for a permit submitted by the promoter Besix Red, a construction and engineering group. This is reported by the DH on its website.
The project provides for the construction of 52 housing units distributed in four four-storey buildings, thus offering a new living space in the heart of the city. Among the many transformations that will be made, Besix intends to demolish the buildings surrounding the halls to create two gardens and duplexes along them.
The ground floor will be dedicated to two shops along the chaussée de Waterloo, as well as spaces of collective interest on the rue Léon Jouret side, envisaging the installation of medical practices.

The project is still at the initial stage of the procedure. Once the file has been validated and the public inquiry conducted, the project will be submitted to the consultation committee before being potentially approved by the region.
