The Province of Luxembourg takes advantage of the Libramont Fair to offer a showcase of its various services, but also to associated departments and other provinces. The opportunity for MP Coralie Bonnet to take stock of the progress of the various offers, but also of the work of the Provincial College. “We toured the 44 municipalities because it is important to serve them and, through them, the expectations of the citizen and thus be able to adjust the services that are offered.”
It also recalls the various expertise put in place to support agriculture in terms of food, energy, accounting (a quarter of farms go through the service set up by the Province). Two cells have also given rise to great projects such as sustainable food by following ten pilot canteens to highlight local products, with conclusions that can be used by all canteens in the province or even the Agri-Pédia team, which raises awareness of agriculture by visiting schools to offer practical workshops. A great success because there are only a few dates left during the future school year.
Forty people stalled on the farm
Ms. Bonnet also welcomed the “para-provincial” services such as the CER, Fourrage Mieux and social reception on the farm. “This service makes it possible to put some people who have dropped out to work, she specifies. Forty have been welcomed into the farms this year. provincial government supports this plan. We will have to work for its sustainability.”
And the MP to look to the future by continuing support for research, but also with the hope of being able to create a central logistics structure for the distribution of local products, a project which is receiving support from recovery funds in the other provinces. “The objective is to create a storage space that would allow communities to place their orders and be sure to receive the expected quantity.”
