You’ll have to be brave to test the new Apple Vision Pro. The Cupertino company takes all necessary precautions to avoid leaks.
Apple has announced the development of an augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR) headset, called Apple Vision Pro. The Cupertino company plans to release the headset early next year, priced at $3,499.
Apple also announced a development program for the headset. This program will allow developers to create applications for the headset. But to get there, you will have to be brave.
The development program
First, the developer program is available to members of the “Apple Developer Program”. Next, developers must be at least 18 years old and have a new VisionOS app in development, or an existing iPadOS or iOS app. Apple will give priority to developers who design applications specifically optimized for Vision Pro.
Program Rules
Developers who participate in the program must also sign a confidentiality agreement. They must also keep the development kit in a “private and secure workspace” and cannot show it to family, friends or other unauthorized persons. Please note that the kit must also be in the “direct field of vision” of the developer at all times. With the obligation to be stored in a locked case. This briefcase which must obviously be in a locked space when not with the developer. Discussing the device or interface in public or on the Internet is strictly prohibited.
These restrictions will therefore be a major challenge for developers. But also a guarantee of security and confidentiality for the project.
Development labs
Apple is also holding development labs for the Vision Pro. The labs will take place in the following cities: Cupertino, London, Munich, Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo. The labs will allow developers to test and optimize their applications on VisionOS. Apple engineers will be available to help with configuration and debugging throughout the day.
