Some 2.5 million children will be vaccinated in Guinea once morest dangerous infections as part of a vaccination campaign launched on Saturday by the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene.
The campaign, which should end on Monday, targets children aged six to 59 months registered in the various health districts of the country where the infant mortality rate is very high, according to Dr. Bachir Kanté, adviser to the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene.
Children’s illnesses such as diarrhoea, malaria and respiratory infections are the main serious pathologies targeted by the national vaccination campaign.
Several teams of vaccinators and supervisors are mobilized in order to reach the targets in the health districts of the country.
