The picturesque formation of Patagonian Train, which connects the Rio Negro cities of Viedma with Bariloche, experienced a rough early morning this Saturday, when his weary walk came across a bull that was just on the tracks, which led to the derailment of the machine and the first bum. After the accident, the 290 passengers on the train, including many children, had to get out of the formation and wait for the buses that ended up taking them to Bariloche to arrive. The company was concerned to highlight that there were no injuries.
With most of the passengers sleeping shortly before 2 in the morning, a few in the dining room having following-dinner meals and very little visibility, the formation ran into a bull that had had the bad idea of leaning on the tracks. It is already known that all track layouts are precarious in the interior of the country, and that blow once morest the heavy animal was enough for the first of the two locomotives to lose the rail, ending up on the ground to one side. This situation will require hard work to make the trace operable once more.
With the auxiliary machine, the wagons backed up to the San Antonio Oeste station, the personnel made them get off and thus began the operation of colectivos and combis so that the contingent might reach Bariloche, or the intermediate towns to which they were going.
The formation had left on Friday at 6:00 p.m. from the Rio Negro capital and was scheduled to arrive in Bariloche in the early hours of Saturday followingnoon.
The company
Tren Patagonico referred to the incident through a statement, in which it explained that “they acted following the protocols established for these cases.”
The same report stated that: “The passengers finished their bus trip to Bariloche.” And he added: “The train runs with two locomotives, the first one derailed and the rest of the formation went back with the second locomotive to San Antonio Oeste (SAO), where the buses were waiting, and the passengers were transferred at the station in one hour”.
On the other hand, they regretted what happened and assured that the machine that led the crash “It’s still derailed in place.”
