Online bank Revolut now has 375,000 “verified users” who have signed up for its services, L’Echo reported on Saturday. They are therefore not necessarily active users.
Revolut has opened a subsidiary in Belgium, registered with the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises, which is listed on the National Bank’s website. “Currently, we operate in Belgium from our regulated company in Lithuania. But the objective is to offer our services from the Belgian subsidiary”, explains the manager of the Belgian and Dutch branch, Francesco Aghemio.
The neobank will set up a branch in Belgium and initially five people should join the Brussels office, he announced. Thanks to this Belgian branch, Revolut will be able to offer accounts with Belgian IBANs.
The opening of local branches is part of Revolut’s new strategy. The neobank, which has nearly 30 million customers worldwide, has decided to gradually establish itself in the countries where it operates.
