Four service clubs, numerous atmospheric Freistadt cellars and a festival for all the senses: This is how the first Freistadt Old Town Roas presented itself, which took place in May. In addition to wine tastings in selected vaults and buildings worth seeing in Freistadt, there was a joint banquet in the Salzhof at the end. The Rotary Clubs Freistadt and Aisttal-Hagenberg as well as the Lions Clubs Freistadt and Pregarten had come together as organizers.
And with great success: the net proceeds amounted to around 10,000 euros and benefited children in need in elementary and middle schools in the Freistadt district. These parents, or their parents, receive help from the social service centers in Freistadt and Pregarten in the form of vouchers that can be redeemed at Buchen Papier Wolfsgruber in Freistadt and in the Fessl book shop in Pregarten. Altstadt-Roas every two years
“Thanks to the large number of participants, our Altstadt-Roas was a complete success,” says Michael Haderer from the Rotary Club Freistadt. That is why the local service clubs have agreed to hold this event every two years in the future. With the school start aid, this year’s edition of the Roas finds a highly successful conclusion.
