If you haven’t installed macOS 13.5 yet, don’t rush: the update released earlier this week causes a problem for privacy settings. Third-party apps are no longer listed in location settings (System Settings > Privacy and Security > Location services).
It’s annoying to say the least, because you can no longer modify the access of a third-party app to geolocation following its initial choice. This disappearance of the settings is obviously general, we have seen it on several Macs of the editorial staff and the testimonials are pouring in on the Web.
macOS 13.5 System Settings: Third-party apps should be listed here.
Only the possibility of modifying the authorization is affected, third-party apps retain access to geolocation if you have given them the green light beforehand – there is also a new icon in the menu bar since macOS 13.3 when an app uses your location. In addition, location settings remain available for system services (Alerts by Location, HomeKit, Important Places, etc.).
Given this bug, macOS 13.5.1 should arrive soon.
