For ten years, Calle Libre has been attracting street artists to Vienna every year, leaving their visiting cards in the city with large-scale works (murals). The theme for the anniversary edition is “DIEZ. Years of Transformation” and deals with the change in standards and the rapid change that society has experienced in the past decade in social and ecological terms.

The festival started on July 27 this year and lasts ten days until August 5th. Numerous program items are offered, as organizer Jakob Kattner explained. “As Calle Libre, we want to continue to make our contribution and develop further in the future: In addition to the annual festival, we also push our other projects, such as workshops, tours, exhibitions and commissioned works, in order to act as an international platform for urban art.”
This year there is a separate exhibition in the gallery AG18 in Annagasse in the inner city. This year, however, the focus is once more on the artistic designs in the city, this year in Ottakring. Finally, a two-day music event will take place in the Ottakringer brewery. Hip hop and electro artists perform.
