(CNN) — The Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, met Thursday with the US National Security Adviser, Jake Sullivan, in Jeddah, where they “discussed strategic relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them in various fields, and they also reviewed developments in the regional and international situations of common concern.” According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Sullivan’s trip comes at a time when the US administration is exploring the possibility of reaching an agreement to normalize relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia.

And New York Times writer Thomas Friedman stated, following a meeting with US President Joe Biden, that Biden sent Sullivan to the Kingdom to continue exploring the possibility of reaching an agreement, and to determine what it takes to reach such an agreement.
