First Vice-President Dirnberger and Vice-President Kaufmann take on the tasks in a double function
Vienna (OTS) – On Tuesday, July 25th, an extraordinary meeting of the presidium of the Austrian Association of Municipalities took place via video conference. In the course of this meeting, the President of the Association of Municipalities, Alfred Riedl, reported on his view of things communicated by the media. In order to relieve the Association of Municipalities from the current proceedings and to allow the Association of Municipalities to continue working in peace, he suspended his position as President of the Austrian Association of Municipalities.
Association of Municipalities President Alfred Riedl: “In order to take further pressure off the most important interest group of the Austrian municipalities, I have decided to put my position as President of the Austrian Association of Municipalities on hold as of today. I have asked the first vice-president, Erwin Dirnberger, and vice-president, Andrea Kaufmann, to take over my duties in the association of municipalities until the next meeting of the federal board. My proposal was unanimously accepted by the members of the Executive Committee. I didn’t deserve the media attacks and all the speculation, and neither did my family. In order to take the community association out of the line of fire and to be able to complete the proceedings in peace, I decided to proceed in this way. I have worked hard for my community for decades and have always fought with all my might for the communities in the community association and have been able to bring home many successes for the Austrian communities in recent years.”
