2023-07-24 21:20:15

Chopped steaks marketed in E.Leclerc stores in France are the subject of a major product recall. They might cause sometimes bloody diarrhoea, abdominal pain and vomiting.

The French are beginning to become familiar with it. For several months, there has been an increase in cases of contamination or bacterial risks in food products which therefore require a product recall.

The government platform draws consumers’ attention to a reference of minced steaks sold in the following departments: Ain (01), Allier (03), Drôme (26), Isère (38), Loire (42), Nièvre (58), Rhône (69), Saône-et-Loire (71), Savoie (73), Haute-Savoie (74), Vaucluse (84).

Presence of Escherichia coli bacteria

The affected lot number is 31763185020 and the product was sold between July 10 and July 17. A number has been communicated to allow customers to find out more regarding possible repairs and the risks involved: 07.82.02.05.18.

The bacteria Escherichia coli, also known as E.coli, might be present in these hamburger patties. This might be harmful to our health.

In the week following the consumption of contaminated products, the symptoms can be sometimes bloody diarrhoea, abdominal pain and vomiting, with or without fever. These symptoms may be followed (5 to 8% of cases) by severe renal complications, mainly in children.

People who have consumed the products mentioned above and who present this type of symptom are invited to consult their doctor without delay, notifying him of this consumption as well as the place and date of purchase.

In the absence of symptoms within 10 days following consumption of the products concerned, there is no need to worry and consult a doctor.
