Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal made an offer of €300m for Kylian Mbappé on Monday. Paris St-Germain confirmed the offer for their striker and gave him permission to negotiate with the club himself.
Al-Hilal has long been traded as an interested party in poker for Mbappé. The French striker is actually under contract with PSG until next summer, but has said he does not want to extend his contract. Since then there has been speculation regarding a change during this transfer period.
Neymar cost “only” 222 million
The most expensive transfer in professional football to date was Brazilian Neymar’s move from FC Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017. At that time, the transfer fee was 222 million euros. Mbappé switched from AS Monaco to PSG in 2017 for 180 million euros.
The Frenchman would like to fulfill his contract at Paris to join in 2024 on a free transfer. PSG boss Nasser Al-Khelaifi strictly rejects this.
