Only India sent an emerging team to the Emerging Asia Cup which ended in Sri Lanka the other day. While the victorious Pakistan team fielded capped players, India came to Sri Lanka with all uncapped players.
The players who made their debut for the national team and played several matches were with other teams. Seven capped players including Shahnawaz Dahani were with the Pakistan team while nine players including Soumya Sarkar were in the Bangladesh team.
Afghan player Noor Ali Sadran is the senior in this group. Sadran, 35, made his debut in 2009 and has played 51 ODIs and 19 T20Is for the national team.
Bangladesh star Soumya Sarkar has played three World Cups for the national team.
Meanwhile, the average age of the Indian team is 20.8. There was not even a single senior player in the Indian line-up.
But in case of Pakistan their average age is 2.3.2. As mentioned earlier, seven players have represented Pakistan in international competitions. Together they have played 85 matches at the international level.
Pakistan captain Mohammad Haris has played five ODIs and nine T20Is for Pakistan.
Last day R. Pakistan retained the title by defeating India A team by 128 runs in the match held at the Premadasa Stadium. Chasing the target of 353 runs set by Pakistan, India managed to score only 224 runs.
After losing the toss and batting, Pakistan rose to a good score on the strength of Tayyab Tahir’s century. Tahir got out following scoring 108 runs off 71 balls. Apart from Tahir, Sahibzada Farhan and Syam Ayyub also completed half-centuries.
In response, India tried to resist the strength of the top order but to no avail. Abhishek Sharma scored 61 runs off 51 balls, captain Yash Dhull scored 39 runs off 41 balls and Saisudarshan scored 29 runs off 28 balls.
Finally, India were all out for 224 in 40 overs. Sufiyan Makhim took three wickets while Mehran Mumtaz, Mohammad Wasim Jr and Arshad Iqbal took two wickets each. Mubasil Khan took the remaining wicket.
