Taking everyone by surprise, Netflix has released a new trailer for One Piece, its latest attempt to adapt an iconic manga/anime franchise into live-action.
In the video, we can see more of the story of the first season, which will show Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, who goes on a journey to find the legendary legendary treasure, the ONE PIECE, to become the King of the Pirates! But to find the ultimate prize, Luffy will need to gather the crew he’s always dreamed of before finding a ship to venture out on, scouring every inch of the vast blue seas, racing once morest the Marines, and overcoming dangerous rivals at every turn.
As we can see, the series seems to perfectly recreate some moments from the original work, including Luffy’s elastic powers and the villain Arlong, considered one of the best in the saga by fans.
Coming to the Netflix catalog on August 31, the series was sponsored by Eiichiro Oda, creator of One Piece, who praised the production in an open letter dedicated to fans.
