As a patron, Kate Middleton made her grand entrance at Wimbledon. As a shining star, she enjoyed the full attention and overlooked a boy.
London – Kate Middleton (41) is the perfect choice for the job of patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club. In advance, she impressed tennis legend Roger Federer (41) in a match in which the two also attended a training session for the ball girls and ball boys on the famous Center Court. The team was also ready with fervor at the big Grand Slam final in the epic showdown, in which Carlos Alcaraz (20) defeated Novak Djokovic (36) in five sets, to collect and return the balls to the tennis greats.
Princess Kate is the perfect patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club
On the last day of the SW19 tournament, the 41-year-old princess watched from the Royal Box, accompanied by her children Prince George (9) and Princess Charlotte (8) and her husband Prince William (41), the gripping five-set match in which the challenger Alcaraz was able to knock the long-standing defending champion off the Wimbledon throne. It was up to the Princess of Wales to present the trophy to the overjoyed winner.

When Princess Kate stepped onto the pitch from the Royal Box, she was greeted with great applause on Center Court, the ball girls and boys formed a trellis through which the Chair of the All England Club might walk to the awards ceremony. The mother of three beamed in the lush green midi dress by Roland Mouret (864 euros) when she put her nude-colored bisque suede pumps by Gianvito Rossi (630 euros) on the sacred lawn and then it happened.
Who gets an invitation to sit in the Royal Box?
“The Royal Box has been used for the entertainment of friends and guests of Wimbledon since 1922,” says Wimbledon. “British and overseas royal families will be invited, as well as heads of government, figures from the world of tennis, business partners, the British Armed Forces, prominent media organisations, supporters of British tennis and other personalities.”

As if he were air, Her Royal Highness walked past the first ball boy in the trellis to shake hands warmly and profusely with the second in line. A clip of the interaction posted to Twitter shows the princess taking each other’s hands in hers, although it’s not standard royal procedure. The fans remained confused, the first boy in the trellis might be sad. Especially because the good relationship with the young people on the sidelines was visible to everyone – Kate chatted a little here and there as if she were meeting old acquaintances once more – everyone is now wondering what ball boy no. 1 actually did that he was left out.
An accident would be conceivable, which seems implausible in view of Kate’s high level of professionalism, or a meeting with the boy in question in advance, where the two would have greeted each other behind the scenes. The princess would have wanted to save time, a third observer suspected. It is difficult to imagine that the mother of three would intentionally leave a child hanging, especially since Princess Kate had just looked following her two older children in the stands and even Prince William had mutated into an “overwhelmed child”, as a behavior analyst found.
