Yesterday, the former boss of Renault-Nissan, Carlos Ghosn spoke at a press conference.

Still on the run in Lebanon

As part of lawsuits once morest Nissan, Carlos Ghosn claims “a small compensation” of one billion dollars but he makes it clear that he does not ‘seek revenge’. “We have quantified this amount and it is the subject of criminal proceedings in Lebanon“. To date, the ex-boss of Renault-Nissan is still targeted by 3 international arrest warrants, 2 in France and 1 in Japan.

At 69 years old, Carlos Ghosn still considers himself the victim of false accusations (he was accused of misuse of corporate assets and money laundering in an organized gang). He therefore initiated an action in justice in Lebanon and seeks $588 million in lost compensation and $500 million in moral damages. “I was arrested on the sole charge of not declaring an indemnity which was neither paid nor decided“, he complained.

I’m not looking for revenge, I just want the criminals not to sleep on their two ears following what they did! Obviously the concerned will be called to appear before the Criminal Justice in Lebanon; if they do not show up, they will suffer the consequence of not coming to defend themselves“, continued Carlos Ghosn. According to the former boss, there was a ‘collusion between Nissan and Japanese justice’ with the aim of ‘getting rid of the head of the group’ so that he might ‘recover his freedom’.
