Draymond Green and the young Warriors is definitely quite a story. As with Jordan Poole last year, the Golden State veteran would have a complicated relationship with Jonathan Kuminga.
More locker room problems at the Warriors? We thought, however, that the transfer of Jordan Poole to Washington would be able to improve the atmosphere a little at the Dubs. Goodbye Poole, goodbye the sad story of Draymond Green’s punch and finally a fully-knit team to go win another title. Except it looks like the pool specialist wasn’t the only youngster to have some trouble with the Warriors pit bull. According to Monte Poole of NBC SportsJonathan Kuminga obviously has nothing in common with his racket partner.
“The relationship or at least the lack of relationship between Draymond Green and Jonathan Kuminga is a problem that can only be solved by Draymond. The new contract signed by the latter implies that the Warriors think he can fix it, but in the League there are a lot of people who say ‘I don’t know’”.
It remains to be seen what is at the origin of this complicated relationship. Alex Reed of Paul George’s podcast last week, Draymond Green himself admitted that he did not know his teammate that much.

“I don’t know him, and yet I try to guide him. And that’s something Coach Izzo (Green’s NCAA coach at Michigan State, editor’s note) taught me when I was a freshman in college. How can you guide someone if you don’t know them, if you don’t spend time with them?”
Frustrated by his playing time and his role with the Warriors, Jonathan Kuminga was a name we had watched at the time of the Draft. Announced as a potential starter, the strong winger is currently still in San Francisco, ready to start a third season with the Dubs. We’ll see if the supposedly fresh relationship between the two men improves. For the sake of the Warriors and their great ambitions, it would be better.
