Three days following North Korea launched a ballistic missile, it continued its provocation once more.

Early this morning, several strategic cruise missiles were launched in a surprise attack, this time into the West Sea.

What North Korea fired this time was a cruise missile.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff said, “Since around 4 am this morning, we have captured several cruise missiles launched into the West Sea.”

While South Korean and US intelligence authorities are closely analyzing the missile’s detailed specifications, the Joint Chiefs of Staff did not disclose the launch location and range.

North Korea’s provocation is three days following launching two short-range ballistic missiles into the East Sea on the 19th.

If the cruise missile shot today is correct, it is likely to be an Arrow-1 type or an Arrow-2 type.

In March, North Korea disclosed the launch of the missile, saying it might carry a strategic nuclear warhead.

At the same time, it claimed that it was equipped with a simulated nuclear warhead and detonated it from an altitude of 600 m.

Unlike ballistic missiles, cruise missiles can freely change their trajectory while flying at a low altitude, making it very difficult to track and detect as well as intercept.

North Korea’s provocations seem to be a reaction once morest the ROK-US nuclear cooperation.

When the US strategic nuclear submarine, the Kentucky ship, entered the Korean Peninsula in 42 years in time for the first Nuclear Consultative Group meeting held in Seoul, North Korea reacted extremely sensitively.

Through a statement from the Ministry of Defense, the threat continued, saying that the deployment of strategic assets might be a condition for the use of nuclear weapons.

South Korea and the United States have announced that they will frequently deploy US strategic assets to the Korean Peninsula in the future, and with a large-scale Victory Day event on the 27th, North Korea’s additional provocations are expected to continue.
