A total of 19 million euros has been reserved for the storage, distribution and destruction of expired Covid vaccines until mid-2025

Vienna (OTS) “The corona vaccinations are becoming more and more of a bottomless pit financially!”, FPÖ club chairman deputy NAbg was outraged today. Dagmar Belakovich. She asked the Green Minister of Health regarding the costs of logistics, storage and any destruction of corona vaccines. The minister’s response to inquiries is sobering: 19 million euros have been reserved in the budget for the period from 2023 to mid-2025. Belakovich: “No one needs this vaccination – and yet this government continues to buy it, distribute it and – if nobody wants it – then destroy it. There seems to be enough money for this, while the health care system otherwise lacks money everywhere.”

These 19 million euros come on top of the costs of 37.5 million euros for storage and distribution that have already become due by the end of 2022. “In total, Austria pays 56.5 million euros for handling the corona vaccinations. The ailing healthcare system would lack this money. Really an indictment of Austria and Health Minister Rauch. He should get out of the vaccine contracts immediately and make better use of the funds that are released as a result!” demanded FPÖ deputy club chairman NAbg. Dagmar Belakovich.
