The most fascinating games of the 2023 college football season are guaranteed to sell out and promise exciting stories and gameplay. They will decide the outcome of the two largest conferences. But in addition to the SEC and the Big Ten, there is also an inter-conference game right at the start of the season with the ACC, which is eagerly awaited.
The Big Ten will be hotly contested right to the end in the college playoff battle. In any case, the teams of the SEC fight close duels almost every week for the top spot in the super conference. It’s pretty tight up there, and college football has given us not only exciting games but also outcomes that have been talked regarding for years to come. So we can rely on that this time too.
week 1
Quarterbacks are the icing on the cake in college football, too. With Spencer Rattler vs. Drake Maye, as well as Jordan Travis vs. Jayden Daniels, not much can go wrong in week one.
Florida State Seminoles vs LSU Tigers
The offseason hype surrounding Florida State and LSU has been tremendous. Last season’s duel was already a real treat and with the high expectations, this year we have to go one step further. At neutral in Orlando, the Tigers will try to make up for last year’s narrow loss. A win would bring a powerful tailwind to the rest of the season.

week 8
The brawl in the locker room entrances following the Michigan Wolverines and Michigan State Spartans derby marked a turning point in the charged rivalry between the two schools. The public will therefore be watching this game closely. But only marginally, because the top game in the Big Ten is contested by other opponents.
Penn State Nittany Lions @ Ohio State Buckeyes
Of course, “The Game” gets a higher priority on the calendar for Buckeyes fans. But they will not take the duel with Penn State lightly. Whoever starts at quarterback should have some chemistry going into week 8 Marvin Harrison Jr. und Emeka Egbuka built up in the pass attack. In the showdown with quarterback Drew Allar and an outstanding running game for running backs Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton, the playmakers in both teams are certainly challenged.
Penn State is finally looking to get past Michigan and Ohio State in the Big Ten once more. To prevent this, the Fürstenfelder Hero Kanu will certainly see some snaps in the Buckeyes’ defense. Whoever emerges victorious has to take down Big Ten champion Michigan in the next step. Both opponents are capable of doing this.

Can Marvin Harrison Jr. and Kyle McCord replicate the chemistry that they had in high school? ????

week 10
The Pac-12 usually has very late kickoff times on the west coast. Therefore, the possible top game between the Washington Huskies and the USC Trojans should be overshadowed by the duel between the LSU Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
LSU Tigers @ Alabama Crimson Tide
The SEC West contender in the 2022 Conference Championship Game wasn’t Alabama, it was LSU. And quarterback Jayden Daniels would like to terrorize the Crimson Tide defense once more. Until last year’s 32-31 overtime win, in which Daniels had 277 total yards and three touchdowns, the Tigers weren’t exactly on the ball.
This year, both teams are going into the season with playoff ambitions. The pressure is growing for LSU. But Alabama also has to eradicate the last disappointing season.

week 12
For the first time in ages, last year’s UCLA Bruins-USC Trojans derby sold out. Both are back on the college football map. Much like the Tennessee Volunteers taking on the reigning National Champion in the South.
Georgia Bulldogs @ Tennessee Volunteers
Last year the Bulldogs clearly won once morest the Vols. But a trip to the sold-out Neyland Stadium is another matter. It will be the toughest game of the season for both teams. It can be assumed that the exit via the SEC East will be decided in week 12. Whoever wins the “Endgame” will move into the SEC Championship Game and likely redeem the first playoff ticket early.

Final average announced attendance numbers for the seven California FBS schools in 2022:

2. UCLA: 41,592
3. Fresno State: 39,067
4. Cal: 38,596
5. Stanford: 29,965

week 13
Week 13 is traditionally college football’s Rivalry Week. On Thanksgiving weekend, many rivals play their own trophies and in the past have caused some surprises that might turn a college season completely upside down. Many remember the “Kick Six” at the Iron Bowl a few years ago. “The Game”the greatest rivalry must not be missing here, of course.
Ohio State Buckeyes @ Michigan Wolverines
The Wolverines are expecting many players back from last year’s successful season. Ohio State doesn’t have that luxury, so it’s safe to assume Michigan will be the favorite going into the season at this point. But that means nothing if the outcome of the Big Ten East is only decided in the Rivalry Game.
The game in Ann Arbor, Michigan is expected to be intense and there will certainly be cold temperatures. The Buckeyes finally want to beat their rival once more. Because a second playoff ticket for the loser, as in the previous year, is by no means guaranteed.
