Patrick Senecal in On the doorstep

From his novel On the doorstep, the film of the same name starred Patrick Huard and Michel Côté. A bit like Alfred Hitchcock, horror author Patrick Senécal enjoyed making a whirlwind appearance. He is one of the patients in the hospital (he even has small replicas), then becomes one of the corpses in the same hospital at the end of the film.

Peter Jackson is also famous for making multiple and short appearances (usually lasting less than 2 seconds!) in his own cinematographic works. Some of his family members (including his children, Katie and Billy) and friends also got mini roles. In The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Jackson becomes Albert Dreary. For the record, his character had to smoke a pipe, but as it made him sick following a few takes, he swapped it for a carrot. In The Hobbithe returns to this role holding… an Easter egg!

Stan Lee in Marvel movies before his death

Before his death in 2018, the father of several superheroes – particularly attached to Marvel Comics – multiplied cameos in films, series and video games. Martin Scorsese in Taxi Driver

The director gave himself two little characters in his legendary 1976 film Taxi Driver, featuring young Robert De Niro. If the first has only a tiny appearance, the second is richer. He becomes a taxi customer asking the driver to stop in front of a building to observe his unfaithful wife. He then delivers a long racist and misogynistic monologue, explaining how he is going to kill her with a .44 Magnum, which implants the idea in the main character of getting one later in the story.

Elon Musk in Iron Man 2

In 2010, billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk was seen playing his own role in Iron Man 2. He is seen shaking hands with characters played by Robert Downey Jr and Gwyneth Paltrow in an upscale restaurant. Iron Man praises him for his Marlin engines, and Musk quickly tells him regarding his electric jets.

Special Mention: Bulle Tifo-Curzi

The dog of the actor couple formed by Marie Tifo and Pierre Curzi, Bulle, plays in the film A revision. Patrice Robitaille portrays a philosophy professor who, grappling with a professional dilemma, seeks advice from his mentor portrayed by Pierre Curzi. The animal – a cream-colored poodle and golden retriever mix – walks alongside its handler in the scenes set at the park. Funny fact: we can see the name of Bulle Tifo-Curzi in the credits at the end of the film.
