Camemberts from Normandy are being recalled due to the possible presence of listeria bacteria.
Camemberts from Normandy, of different brands and sold by several distributors in France, are the subject of a recall procedure due to the possible presence of the bacterium listeria monocytogenes, alerts the site Drink reminder this Friday.
This recall concerns lot number 23R135, which has a best before date of August 4.
These are the models:
“Camembert de Normandie AOP 250g” sold by the brands “Th. Réaux” and “Le Val d’Ay” “Camembert de Normandie 250g, Large cheese 1kg, Cheese 800g and Small Camembert 150g” sold by the brand “Le Gaslonde”
These camemberts were marketed between June 9 and 30, 2023 and at wholesalers and creamers throughout France, specifies the Rappel Conso site.
“Destroy the product”
Consumers who hold this product are invited to “no longer consume it”, “no longer use it” and “destroy it”.
People who have consumed this product and who “present fever, isolated or accompanied by headaches, and body aches, are invited to consult their doctor by notifying him of this consumption”, indicates Rappel Conso, adding that “serious forms with neurological complications and maternal or fetal damage in pregnant women can also sometimes occur”.
The bacterium listeria monocytogenes is responsible for listeriosis, a disease that can be serious and whose incubation period can be up to eight weeks. Pregnant women, immunocompromised people and the elderly are called upon to be particularly vigilant.
