The era of dedicated stadiums, a long-cherished wish of professional billiards (PBA), has opened wide. It is a dream stadium that cost 3 billion won.

The ‘Hana Card PBA-LPBA Championship’, which starts on the 20th, will be held at the ‘Goyang Kintex PBA Stadium’ located in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do. Until now, the PBA tour has been held at special stadiums such as the Grand Walkerhill Seoul Hotel, Blue One Resort, High1 Resort, and Sono Calm Goyang, not at dedicated stadiums. The third tour this season will be held at the PBA Stadium.

Starting with the women’s preliminaries on the 20th and 21st, the ‘Goyang Kintex PBA Stadium’ opening ceremony will be held on the 22nd. Afterwards, the competition begins in earnest with the opening ceremony.

A dedicated stadium was a long-cherished project planned even before the launch of the PBA. However, it was difficult to solve because of difficulties such as selecting a site for the stadium and securing funds. Then, in 2021, the ‘PBA-only stadium task force (TF) team’ was formed and started to promote it in earnest.

It is reported that regarding 3 billion won was invested in the construction. In particular, it is explained that the SY group, a new team in the team league, provided a special donation of hundreds of millions of won for the construction of a dedicated stadium, which was a great help. In addition, each club participating in the PBA team league pays for the operating expenses of the exclusive stadium.

PBA Stadium has eight tables, including two relay main tables. There is also a spectator stand that can accommodate regarding 200 people. In addition, smooth operation of the game is expected, including a player waiting room equipped with a changing room, a broadcasting relay room, a referee waiting room, and a game management room.

At the exclusive stadium, more than 300 tours and event competitions are held for more than 300 days a year with regarding 800 players registered in the PBA Tour as well as the 2nd (Dream Tour) and 3rd (Challenge Tour). In addition, it plans to literally become the ‘Mecca of PBA’ by producing billiards-related broadcasts, various events related to PBA tours, and selling PBA souvenirs.

As a dedicated stadium, it was decorated splendidly with decorations symbolizing the PBA. Not only PBA, but also sponsors’ logos, PBA game rules such as bank shots and first pitch arrangements, and the emblems of each team participating in the PBA team league decorate the stadium.

In particular, on one side of the outer wall, ‘PBA graffiti’ by Beom-min, a ‘graffiti artist’ representing Korea, is engraved. It is explained that the special relationship between writer Beom and Crown Haetae (Chairman Yoon Young-dal) served as an opportunity. Artist Beom, known under the active name ‘BF MIN’, is emerging as a world-class graffiti artist by collaborating with large corporations and luxury brands.

The opening ceremony will begin at 1:50 p.m. on the 22nd. The signboard unveiling ceremony, opening celebration ceremony, and congratulatory performances follow.
