The four young people from Brussels detained in Malta, suspected of having raped a 17-year-old girl and beaten a 16-year-old boy, want to await their possible trial in Belgium with an ankle bracelet. This is what our colleagues from HLN reveal on the basis of statements by Belgian lawyer Michel Degrève, counsel for the suspect Dany M.

“The four suspects deny everything. My client also denies the rape. He says there was no sexual relationship. In addition, no video footage of the rape was found. There are videos in the file, including a video showing how my client was beaten by Maltese men during a revenge attack”, underlines Master Degrève to our colleagues from HLN.
During today’s hearing in Malta, the evidence once morest the 4 suspects was examined and the facts discussed. “Next Friday we will have a debate on possible bail and an anklet – pending the possible trial. So that they can serve their pre-trial detention at home in Belgium, which is perfectly possible in Europe”, concludes the lawyer with HLN.
