With a harmonious graduation ceremony in the auditorium of the Edmund Grom Middle School, the ninth graders said goodbye. The large hall was nicely decorated according to the motto “the future is colourful”, the youth orchestra embellished the celebration with cheerful musical sounds.
Rector Susanne Kolb was happy regarding the good results of the graduates. It’s a first for her, because today’s senior class is the first she’s known since fifth grade, she said. She congratulated and thanked class teacher Carla Metz for the good school support. You would now have to say goodbye to your school days, your classmates and your teachers. The motto “the future is colourful” also included pens that color life. Which colors you choose is up to you.
A decisive role for the future will play what they believe in themselves. They should go beyond their limits and venture into uncharted territory. They got the key qualifications from school. They would need teamwork, communication and cooperation skills in any job.
However, no matter which way they went, a lot would change. They now have their freedom and have to make decisions. The rector wished the discharge students all the best for these decisions, a lot of strength and energy for the new things that lie ahead of them.
Another cornerstone for the future life
Mayor Holger Schmitt from Niederlauer emphasized that it was a special day for the graduates. The testimony that they receive is another cornerstone for their future life. He wished the graduating students a lot of hope and confidence for the future. “Keep the big picture in mind,” he said, adding his congratulations.
Thomas Müller from the Parents’ Council recommended that the graduates look ahead to the future. You would have to make a decision and take one step at a time. Whether for a job or school is up to them. He wished them many happy decisions. In them he sees young people who shine and have a character, who are personalities. “Good luck and lots of right decisions,” said Müller.
Class teacher Carla Metz was visibly touched in her speech. It would have been a great class. She is very happy that she was able to accompany the students on their way into the future. She would miss them all. She wished them many colors, yellow for warmth and sun, green for happiness, blue for calm and red for love. “I wish you that you always have someone who is there for you,” she said and congratulated on the successful completion.
Wolfgang Issing, class teacher of the practice class, emphasized that the certificates only contain numbers. However, these would not reflect the performance of the students. Together with the social worker Sabine Diemer (funded by the ESF), he would have looked following the class for many years. A close relationship has been built up. He congratulated them on the successful completion, they should enjoy the positive aspects to the fullest.
It wasn’t always easy for either side
Leonie Friedrich and Evelyn Hein thanked the ninth-grade graduates. It wasn’t always easy at school for both sides, but it worked out. They would have formed a good class community. They thanked their class teacher and praised her perseverance. It must have been a difficult class.
Sarah Volz and Ben Gschwendtner spoke for the practice class. They thanked the Rector, but especially Wolfgang Issing and Sabine Diemer for their patience. “Without Mr. Issing we would have been lost. And thanks to Ms. Diemer we have all found places in an apprenticeship or school.”
The three best students were awarded. Sue Erhard shone with an average grade of 1.6, Leonarda Schubert passed the qualification with 1.8 and Nina Kaiser was able to show the 2.0.
