Eintracht Frankfurt’s Dream Striker Duo: Elye Wahi and Randal Kolo Muani – Latest Updates and Transfer News

2023-07-20 10:45:00

Eintracht Frankfurt is courting the services of French striker Elye Wahi and is also hoping for Randal Kolo Muani to stay. The Hessians are apparently willing to take the risk for this dream storm. But it is also clear that players have to go.

Randal Kolo Muani made his comeback at Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday on the rather small football stage. After successfully completing the performance tests, the exceptional 24-year-old traveled with his teammates to the test match in Haiger in central Hesse and watched the 2-1 defeat from the stands.

During the game he was available for selfies and kept grinning in cell phone cameras, a day later he was back on the pitch for the first time. So Kolo Muani, that highly sought following and highly gifted striker, is back. The only question is: for how much longer?

Entrance at Kolo Muani thrilling

If it is up to Eintracht: at least another year. The rumors regarding a move to FC Bayern, which is very busy with Harry Kane, have come to a halt for the time being, as has the flirt with Paris St. Germain. According to media reports, the French top club around Kolo Muani’s buddy Kylian Mbappé has refrained from signing the Frankfurt attacker and is instead regarding to sign Juves Dusan Vlahovic. As of now, Kolo Muani might actually add another season.

Eintracht courts Elye Wahi

However, with the transfer window still open until August 31 and just one move might really get the European striker domino going, Eintracht need a plan B for a possible replacement. The top candidate is young Frenchman Elye Wahi, who is currently under contract with HSC Montpellier and scored 19 goals last season. HSC President Laurent Nicollin confirmed in L’Equipe that a German and an English club are interested in his Sturm jewel. In addition to Eintracht, Chelsea are also courting the 20-year-old.

So far so ordinary for this time of year. What is new, however, is that Eintracht according to information from the Frankfurter Rundschau is now apparently willing to take the risk even without clarity with Kolo Muani and sign Wahi as an additional striker. Sports director Markus Krösche should not prevent even a transfer fee in regions of 30 million euros from making the French dream storm perfect and going into the coming season with Wahi and Kolo Muani. The fact that Wahi, according to Sport1, should be anything but averse to taking the step into the Bundesliga and Eintracht makes things even worse.

Eintracht must sell players

However, it is also clear that Eintracht, despite numerous records in jersey and ticket sales and a profit of around 20 million euros in the past financial year, will not even be able to handle a transfer like Wahi with petty cash.

The Hessians have managed well in recent years and parted with legacy assets and expensive reservists under Krösche. The fact that newcomers such as Ellyes Shkiri, Omar Marmoush and Robin Koch came for (almost) nothing leaves room for further investments. However, sales from professionals whose switch generates income are essential.

Lindstrom, Sow and Borré might go

The first candidates for this are Jesper Lindström, who has been flirting with a farewell for some time, Djibril Sow, who is moving to the island, and the chronically dissatisfied and no longer needed Europa League hero Rafael Borré. The probability that this trio will leave Eintracht in the current transfer phase is very high. With the sale of Lindström alone, Eintracht might almost counter-finance the transfer of Wahi.

The dream dual leadership of the two French miracle weapons is anything but unrealistic. However, the time until the end of the transfer phase is still very long. As is so often the case, final clarity only comes at the very end.
