I don’t like crowds. I feel stuck there. I don’t feel at all. My heart hurts and I have anxiety. But it’s even worse when there are a ton of people in the same tight spot. A few days ago, I was unable to attend a play with my sweetheart. When I entered the room, very small, my head went into an incredible spiral. I had to go out and ended up never attending the performance.
Martin St-Louis is quite the opposite.
He likes tight spaces and he regularly puts his players in situations where they have to move fast, think fast and execute in a split second. He likes it and he’s not shy regarding being in the thick of the action himself like that time he was so close to practice that Kirby Dach ended up running into him.
Me, I would certainly have fallen backwards and I would still be looking for my air today… He didn’t even flinch. It is clearly made in another mold than me!
But know that I do not confide in you regarding my person and that I do not praise Martin St-Louis for free. I do, because I came across a funny streak that happened during Pittsburgh Penguins development camp.
St-Louis may love exercises in tight spaces, but he just got royally slammed by Sidney Crosby’s team with this:

I don’t know regarding you, but this is the first time I’ve seen something like this.
We agree, you’re not working on any strategy with this kind of exercise and you absolutely have to warn your guys not to look for big contacts, because it can quickly become a solid fair. On the other hand, to work on the speed of execution, the control of the disc in heavy traffic, it can certainly be effective.
