Louis Vuitton’s men’s ready-to-wear atelier draws inspiration from teenagers’ upbringing and digitally manipulates clothing to create the 2023 autumn-winter men’s collection. Paneled leather outlines faces in an illusionary trompe l’oeil effect, subtly layered on ready-to-wear and bags. The hazy pixelated pattern has both youthful temperament and surreal style, presenting an avant-garde style of dressing. J-Hope, the brand spokesperson, performed the new 2023 autumn and winter men’s wear series special. Through modern and diversified digital communication art, he explored the imagination of men’s wear in the new season and interpreted the journey of self-growth.
In the ready-to-wear collection, the Apple TV graphic depicts hazy fruit, surrounded by white noise graphics, on jacquard patterns, suits and coats. The silhouette of the face appears on suits and jackets in face-patterned camouflage patchwork, fused with branding, in jacquard echoes of denim workwear and coats, in patchwork poplin shirts, in patchwork of mixed-material jacquards on leather and suede jackets. Paintings created exclusively for the collection are scanned to create patterns of faces adorning jacquard suits and jacquard chenille coats, paying homage to the idea of human interconnectedness. The landscape imagery on the coat depicts an imagined movie scene, and the scene image is finished in jacquard technology, with the subtitle pattern of the cut fabric. Suits are designed from teenagers’ perceptions of what adults wear, with silhouettes that fall somewhere between a loose fit and a slim fit.
In draped brown or VVN soft rounded leather, the Epi XL motif reinterprets classic Louis Vuitton bags – the Alma clutch, travel bag and the new Polochon – in larger sizes. The face-patterned camouflage panel bag is made of linen and leather panels, embellished with Monogram floral patterns and the colors of the season. The new Metallic Nebula Keepall handbag is made of Monogram canvas, which gradually fades out and presents a gold and silver two-color liquid metal mirror effect. A masculine interpretation of the classic bag, the inflatable mini Keepall bag features a puffy shape in metallic hard leather or hard-faced canvas in different designs. The LV Skate sneaker takes on a more minimalist style, featuring grained leather and elegant laces in a new colorway. Special edition LV Skate sneakers in multi-strands of leather interwoven into the branding.
