Lionel Messi has arrived in his new football homeland of Florida. The Argentinian world champion thrilled the crowds at the DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale with fireworks and an otherwise Hollywood-ready show. It seats 20,000 fans, but only 18,000 watched the launch of Inter Miami’s new ‘Number 10’. His children and his wife also faced the storm of flashbulbs.

Inter Miami is co-owned by former English soccer star David Beckham. Messi signed a contract until 2025. The club’s first own stadium in Miami should also be completed in the same year. Until then, it’s still a case of moving to Fort Lauderdale, which is regarding an hour’s drive from Miami.
