Russian President Vladimir Putin announced plans to retaliate once morest Ukraine for the attack on the Crimean Bridge on the 17th local time, Archyde.com and Sputnik news agencies reported.

“Another terrorist act was committed once morest the Crimean Bridge, and the bridge road was badly damaged,” Putin said at a government meeting.

“This crime is senseless and cruel from a military point of view,” Putin said, “because the Crimean Bridge has not been used for military transport for a long time.”

Russia’s Anti-Terrorism Commission (NAC) has declared the incident a terrorist attack, saying that two underwater drones were attacked by Ukrainian special forces on the Crimean Bridge, killing two people and injuring a child.

Ukraine does not accept responsibility for the attack, but some Ukrainian media have reported that the Ukrainian State Security Service (SBU) and Navy are behind the attack.

The Crimea Bridge is the only bridge that directly connects the Crimean Peninsula of Ukraine, which was occupied by Russia in 2014, to the Russian mainland.

At the same time, Russia accused Ukraine of sabotage and launched a massive retaliatory airstrike.
