Around 1 a.m., several previously unknown perpetrators forced open a window on the ground floor of Fill’s house and thus entered the building. At this point, Fill was in bed with his wife. The couple’s daughter was also in the house. The perpetrators, masked with balaclavas, overpowered all three people, tied them up with cable ties and searched the entire house for at least an hour. The perpetrators then fled.
“We are currently assuming three perpetrators,” said Alois Ebner, spokesman for the Ried public prosecutor’s office, on Monday followingnoon when asked by OÖN.
Fill and his family were able to free themselves around 2:15 a.m. The couple suffered minor injuries and both suffered shock. The daughter of the ex-politician suffered a severe shock and had to be taken to the hospital. “An immediately initiated alarm search by the police was unsuccessful. The investigations, which were taken over by the State Criminal Police Office, are in full swing,” says Ebner.
If arrested, the perpetrators face a trial for the crime of (aggravated) robbery. This carries a penalty of up to 15 years imprisonment.
