Zachary Senyshyn, a player perhaps best known for being part of the Boston Bruins’ infamous trio of consecutive first picks in the 2015 draft, has decided to continue his professional career in Germany.

The 26-year-old speedy forward signed a contract with the DEL’s Schwenninger Wild Wings. The move follows Senyshyn’s final season in North America, a year he struggled to establish himself and was traded for future consideration mid-season.

He, who has been playing with the Providence Bruins since the 2017-18 season, has already crossed the threshold of 260 professional games last season and crossed the threshold of 320 games this year, which means that according to the AHL development rule , he is no longer considered a “development player” under either of these two limitations. That would make it even more difficult to get another chance in the AHL and likely contributed to his choice to move to Germany.
