At Terukuni Shrine in Kagoshima City, on the night of the 15th, the summer tradition “June Light” began.
Rokugatsuto at Terukuni Shrine is said to have started when the Shimazu family lit lanterns to commemorate their ancestors.
A lot of people visited the precincts while regarding 800 lanterns such as watermelons and goldfishes drawn by elementary and junior high school students were lined up.
More than 100 food stalls will open this year, and for the first time in four years, there will be no restrictions on alcohol sales and eating while walking, which had been refrained from until last year due to the influence of the new coronavirus.
June lights of Terukuni Shrine will be held from around 5:00 pm on the 16th, and traffic will be restricted in the surrounding area until 10:00 pm.
