The dream poster kept its promises. Opposed to Novak Djokovic, crowned seven times on the London lawn, world number one Carlos Alcaraz won his first Wimbledon, Sunday July 16, in five sets (1-6, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6 -4), following 4:45 minutes of play. A feat for the Spaniard once morest the Serb, who had been undefeated in London since 2017 and who hoped to equal the record of Roger Federer, crowned eight times in London.

But that was not the case for Djokovic, who was also aiming for a 24th Grand Slam. Beaten in the semi-finals of Roland-Garros by the Serb, when he was physically diminished, Carlos Alcaraz had revenge to take. And he took it following a hotly contested, spectacular and indecisive final, which will be remembered for a long time.
