Security Perimeter and Traffic Disruptions during European Summit in Brussels

Due to a European summit organized this Monday July 17 and Tuesday July 18, a security perimeter will be set up, causing disruptions.

This security perimeter will concern:

– le Rond-Point Schuman;

– rue Froissart, from number 101 to number 143

;– and rue de la Loi, between the Rond-Point Schuman and the Residence Palace.

Within this security perimeter, deliveries will not be possible, garbage bags, bicycles and terraces cannot remain on the sidewalk and all windows must be closed. Only people with a pass and their identity card will be able to enter the security perimeter.

Circulation locale

Some streets will be put into local traffic:

– rue Archimède, between rue Stévin and the Rond-Point Schuman;

– avenue de Cortenbergh, between rue Stévin and Rond-Point Schuman (limited access when escorts pass – access authorized only via avenue de la Joyeuse Entrée);

– rue de la Loi, between avenue de la Joyeuse Entrée and the Rond-Point Schuman;

– avenue d’Auderghem, between rue Belliard and Rond-Point Schuman;

– and rue Breydel.

Surface parking will be prohibited on these streets.

Tunnel Reyers

The Reyers tunnel towards the center will be closed from Monday July 17 at 11 a.m.

Public transport

Bus lines 12, 21, 36, 56, 60 and 79 will not serve Schuman station, they will connect with the metro at Maelbeek station. Bus lines 27, 59 and 80 will be diverted locally around Place Jourdan.
