A heat wave is currently covering much of Europe and other parts of the world. With us, in Belgium, the weather remains bearable… for now. Invited to the RTL info 1 p.m. set, weather specialist David Dehenauw came to take stock and explain why we were spared.
“Quite simply because we have currents from the Atlantic and not from North Africa. The heat remains confined in southern Europe“, he clarifies. “Here we are hovering around 22-24 degrees, so a normal summer and for the coming weeks this should not change“.
But might we still experience a similar heat wave soon? “No, not for the moment“, he explains. “In the next few weeks, we will have completely normal temperatures, even until the end of the month. This normal Belgian weather will stay and we will have a normal summer“.
Something to reassure everyone!
