Amman: «The Gulf»
The Jordanian play “The Raft” won 6 awards at the end of the second Traveler Theatrical Festival, before the director and actor Ghannam Ghannam presented the monodrama “With My Own Eyes 1948” out of competition.
The jury announced at the closing ceremony of the festival at the “Dervish Wheel” in Amman that “The Tawafa” won the award for the best integrated work, in the presence of Muhammad Al-Abadi, the head of the Jordanian Artists Syndicate, and Ayman Arar, Director of Culture in Zarqa Governorate.
The same play, which dealt with the fate of the migration boats and the Arab political, security and economic precursors, won the Best Scenography Award, presented by Maher Jaryan, and the Best Direction by the young woman Shifaa Al Jarrah, and the Best Text by the writer Rasha Al-Mulaifi.
Munther Khalil Mustafa, the main hero of the play, shared the best actor award with the Egyptian artist Amr Kabil, for the play “Excuse me, Aristotle, let me try.” Nagham Batarsah for “The Raft” shared the best actress award with the Tunisian Darine Hashiri for the play “The Green One.” The Palestinian play won. Clarinet won the Special Jury Prize.
Director Hakim Harb, director of the festival, signed his new book, “The Captain Who Lost His Way To The Theatre,” which was printed, published and distributed by the Arab Theater Authority.
Harb emphasized the festival’s achievement of its goal of breaking the theater’s isolation with the public by presenting all Jordanian and Arab theatrical performances participating in open spaces and fields.
