The 2023 International Council of Nurses (ICN) Congress in Montreal ended with a ceremony that celebrated achievements, highlighted challenges ahead and set eyes on the next Congress, to be held in Helsinki (Finland) in 2025.

More than 6,000 nurses gathered at the Palais des Congrès in Montreal, Canada, for the 2023 ICN Congress, organized by the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA). Nurses from 126 countries were welcomed to this five-day event by Dr. Pamela Cipriano, President of ICN. They attended plenary sessions led by international luminaries, taking advantage of a very extensive four-day scientific program allowing them to make contacts, share their experience and improve their practice for the benefit of patients.

Howard Catton, ICN’s Chief Executive Officer, said: We designed a new visual identity that better represents who we are and what we stand for moving forward. Our new logo is an updated interpretation of ICN’s heritage and values, incorporating the image of a nurse, our global reach and, of course, the eternal flame of Florence Nightingale’s lamp. We believe that our new branding and logo will help us communicate more effectively with nurses, but also organizations and people outside the profession, and strengthen ICN’s position of influence as a spokesperson. world of nursing. »

ICN’s rebranding will take place over the coming weeks and months, and ICN’s new logo will be used in all of its communication and marketing materials.

The final point of the Congress was the handover to the Finnish Nurses Association, which will organize the 2025 Congress from June 9 to 13 in the country’s capital, Helsinki.
