“We are not going to allow the dismantling or weakening of the Costa Rican Social Security Fund, and we are very clear that the workers of the institution are all equal and we treat everyone the same, regardless of their creed, political affiliation or power. acquisitive”, added Solís.
She is part of this group of young people who have set an example by managing to unify different sector groups and lead them all in one voice in defense of the Fund.
Fabián Cubillo of the Costa Rican Association of Medical Students added in his speech during the demonstration that the Fund has trained many doctors and health professionals and it is time to make sure that this continues to be the case.
Luis Chavarría, general secretary of the National Union of Employees of the Fund and Social Security (UNDECA) told UNIVERSIDAD that the demonstration on July 15 is the concretion of the new health workers, of an important group of doctors who they took the initiative to summon the mass of workers.
“This group contacted various organizations and without hesitation we joined, because rarely have we had such a brutal attack once morest the CCSS and once morest the workers, with the intention of weakening it and there is no doubt that they intend to privatize it. This was revealed by the executive president, Marta Esquivel, who went to Europe to look for solutions to solve the waiting lists, and to our surprises, she came saying that she will elaborate a process with a definitive term and if it is not achieved, the waiting lists will go to private services, that is privatization,” said Chavarría.
