Last year, Samsung abandoned the practice of equipping its flagships with different chips depending on the sales region. But the company had the patience to do so for less than a year.

Here’s what we know

We previously wrote that Samsung’s Galaxy S24 family might feature the company’s proprietary Exynos 2400 chip. They will be announced this winter, but long before that another model with a different processor might go on sale.

This is the Samsung Galaxy S23 Fan Edition (FE). The global version of the smartphone will be equipped with an Exynos 2200 mobile processor. The variant for the US market will receive a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. Both are made with 4nm technology. We saw this split SoC a year and a half ago in the Galaxy S22 family.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE will be unveiled at the end of September. The smartphone will have at least 8 GB of RAM, a 120 Hz AMOLED screen and a 50 MP camera. The battery capacity will be 4500 mAh*h and the fast charging power will be 25W.
