The fact drew so much attention on social networks, due to how rare it is to see this type of relationship, that thousands of people who came across the photo on the internet left their comments of support and congratulated them on “their emotional maturity.”

Iury Maia and Bárbara Benjamín, a Brazilian couple, ended their marriage following 9 years together, but unlike most couples who end up fighting or not being able to see each other once more, these two were an example of what it is ” end a relationship with height and maturity”, according to several users of social networks.
Their story began in 2012 when they met and immediately fell in love with each other. In 2014 they had their first child but in 2018 they decided to end the relationship. Although, due to bureaucratic problems, the divorce papers only came out in 2021.

In this way, Iury and Barbara demonstrated that not all love relationships that end in divorce necessarily have to be a continuous conflict, especially when there are children involved. This is how they shared the beautiful image of the two of them together and happy with the finally signed divorce certificate on their social networks, following several years of waiting: “The celebration of the divorce is being prepared. I invite everyone to eat a piece of cake. Save the date,” the man wrote next to the image.

Immediately, they went viral, unleashing a cascade of positive comments from people following them and those who happened to stumble upon their post. As a result of the great commotion they generated, several local media contacted them: “We lived much better as friends than when we were married. The separation was due to several problems of coexistence”, assured Iury Maia.
In addition, he indicated that not only the relationship with his ex is very good, but also with his current partner: “Today we joke, we make coffee, we have dinner, we celebrate birthdays. I love his boyfriend, he is a good person who treats our son very well. We get along very well and have a good relationship thanks to our son. I visit my son every day.”
