The National Hockey League free agent market opened its doors exactly 15 days ago, on July 1.
Since then, a good part of the free agents of the first and second tier have signed a contract with their new team in view of the 2023-2024 campaign.
We can think of Vladimir Tarasenko, Matt Dumba and Patrick Kane, among others.
As for Kane, we learned yesterday that he will not sign a contract for the moment and that he will wait to see how his health develops between now and the start of the season.
In short, some players still do not have a contract, but that does not mean that they do not have several offers.
The same thing also applies to players who have quickly found their new team.
Indeed, the fact that they signed quickly does not mean that they jumped on the first offer made to them, on the contrary.
Moreover, this is the case of Max Pacioretty, who claims that eight to ten teams made him an offer when he was a free agent.

At least that’s what Allan Walsh, Pacioretty’s agent, claimed in a recent episode of his podcast Agent Provocateur for the Steve Dangle Podcast Network.
Walsh said he and his client discussed all the offers, including some from very surprising teams, before making the decision to accept the Washington Capitals’ offer.
Pacioretty’s agent left some mystery as to who the other teams interested in his client were, leaving us to ponder the whole thing.
It makes you wonder what are these so-called surprising teams that were interested in Pacioretty.
Just imagine if we learned that Kent Hughes and the CH had submitted a contract offer to Pacio.
In short, in the end Pacioretty explains that he made the best decision for him and his family.
He wanted nothing to do with signing a contract with a team that intended to send him somewhere else before the playoffs.
He wants stability for his family, and he wants to prove that he can still play hockey at the highest level and score goals like he does so well.
With his recent worrisome Achilles heel injuries, we really wondered if he would find work in the NHL, but it seems that the quarterback of the NHL teams was interested in his services.
