Discover the Sharing Club, a mobile application for Android and iOS that offers us to lend various objects between neighbors. Free for the first three months, the annual subscription pays for itself very quickly if you borrow often instead of buying new.
When you think regarding it, there are so many reasons to borrow or lend equipment to our neighbors rather than buying new from the store or used on Marketplace.
It’s not necessarily a question of money that pushes us to borrow, but sometimes the lack of storage space, or even our environmental conscience.
The problem is that we don’t necessarily trust our neighbors with our eyes closed. It’s normal to have reluctance, especially if it’s us who lend our property to strangers.
It is with this in mind that the Sharing Club was created: to make loans between neighbors a safe, efficient and fast experience, in addition to being environmental and ecological.
How the Sharing Club app works
The interface of the Sharing Club application is user-friendly and easy to use.
After installing the application via the Play Store or the App Store, we create an account, which gives us a 3 month free trial to see if we like the platform.
You can explore the catalog by classifying it by categories (wellness, culture, childhood, home, games, sport, etc.) or simply by browsing through needs and offers.

We can also obviously create an offer or request an object according to our personal needs.
Thanks to the calendar tool, it’s easy to manage borrowings, see the availability of objects, the dates of return of loans and borrowings, know who borrowed what from whom, etc.
For the exchange of goods, it is up to us to contact our neighbors to plan a date, place and time to meet via the chat tab.
What is really good, especially to reassure more reluctant people, is to know that not only are our addresses never disclosed – meetings are encouraged to be held in neutral places – but if a member does not bring a object or shows disrespectful behavior, he will simply be banned.
Does the Partage Club application require a subscription?
As mentioned above, following creating our Sharing Club account, we are entitled to a free 3-month trial to borrow from our neighbors as we see fit.
Then it costs $60 per year, so the equivalent of $5 per month, to be able to lend and borrow as much as you need.
Payment is not automatically debited following the 3 month trial. When they are finished, one can still lend to others unlimitedly, but one must become a member to borrow once more.
We pay our subscription via the Profile tab, directly in the application. It’s really easy, and it allows it to be linked with our user account.
That’s a pretty reasonable price, especially considering all the money and space that borrowing instead of buying saves us. Moreover, the subscription is often profitable with only one or two loans.
Note that for this price, features will be added over time, including a badge system to validate the reliability of neighbors using proof of residence, neighbor references, compliance with the return date, number of loans and borrowings, etc.
There is also loan insurance which will soon be offered via a deductible in order to compensate members in the event of breakage or non-return of loans. On the other hand, the subscription does not include the insurance component, it will be necessary to pay more to use it.
