Rose Zhang 5e ex-aequo
Corpuz is now the 6th player in the world, and an obvious candidate for a place in the American team of Solheim Cup. She continued Thursday in the wake of last Sunday: 67 (4 birdies, including 3 on the return) to occupy 14th place, tied with references like Lydia Ko et Minjee Leethe two New Zealanders, in a field that made life difficult on the Ohio course: more than 80 players under par!
Between Grant, Boonchant and Corpuz, there are only two players in 3rd place (-6), i.e. Ariya Jutanugarnanother Thai, tied with the Danish Emily Kristine Pedersen. There are especially 9 players in 5th place (-5), including the Indian Aditi Ashok, victorious in Kenya, and the now inevitable Rose Zhang, determined to take control of the tournament on Friday, if the front quartet were to weaken.
PRB in the middle of a nightmare
This 1st round was a real nightmare for Pauline Roussin-Bouchard, only French representative in this first tournament following the US Women’s Open. Weighed down by 5 bogeys and 2 double bogeys, the Varoise returned a card of 80 (143rd) which will force it to perform miracles on Friday to get closer to the cut.
