‘The Wall All-in-One’ brings the South Korean artist’s captivating monochrome series to life with pinpoint precision on the 146-inch 4K panel
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced the exhibition of a masterpiece by artist Park Seo-Bo, a leading figure in contemporary Korean art, at The Wall All-in-One (IAB model) at Rockefeller Center in New York. As part of the ‘Origin, Emergence, Return’ exhibition, Samsung has partnered with Johyun Gallery, combining Park Seo-Bo’s artistic brilliance with Samsung’s cutting-edge Micro LED technology to bring an unrivaled viewing experience that drives the limits of displaying digital art.
Visitors can enjoy artwork from the artist’s iconic ‘Écriture’ series on The Wall panel’s immersive 146-inch 4K display. The Wall All-in-One offers an awe-inspiring visual experience that replicates the intense colors and intricate textures of Park’s painting, allowing visitors a fully immersive experience with the artwork.
The collaboration also marks the first digital release of Park’s artwork. Using microphotography, the original artwork was captured in 56 segments at an extremely high resolution, and is shown slowly zooming out of a coin-sized enlarged area of the artwork. In the process, the work is permeated with the movement and complex texture of the Écriture created with ink and traditional Korean handmade paper, Hanji, being brought fully to life, perfectly captured by The Wall’s captivating display.
“I wanted to highlight the intricate universe of the original artwork by adding a dynamic component to every corner of the painting,” said Park. “The Wall digital panel masterfully reproduces the distinctive texture of the Hanji and the fluctuating red tones in the sunlight, revealing details that might easily go unnoticed by the naked eye.”
