The kids from Boca will play the final of the Under 20 Copa Libertadores. Those led by Silvio Rudman beat Peñarol 1-0 with a great goal from outside the box by Mauricio Benitez. They still have no rival, they must wait for the winner of Independiente del Valle vs. Cerro Porteño, who play at 7:00 p.m.
In a first half that was more stuck than played. Boca had the clearest chances. The first was from Sosa who took advantage of a defensive error and narrowly celebrated his goal following a spectacular shot with a right foot.
With a minute to go before the end of the first half, Boca scored the goal at the right time. Mauricio Benítez received the ball 25 meters from the goal, and with the shout “let it end” from Silvio Rudman, the midfielder made the decision to kick at the goal and nailed it to the angle to give Boca the advantage.
Already in the complement, the kids came out to take care of the ball and manage the game times, and Peñarol allowed it since they did not change their approach of waiting to go on the counterattack. With the nerves of the end, the Uruguayan team ended up with ten players due to an excessive claim by the captain, frustrated for not breaking Boca’s defense.
After the final whistle, the youth team ran out from the bench to hug their teammates and celebrate with the relatives who were present at the La Serena stadium to the cry of “Gentlemen, I’m leaving everything, I’m going to see Boca…”.
