The BBC staffer involved in a scandal over alleged sexual misconduct has been identified by his wife as veteran star presenter Huw Edwards. “I am making this statement on behalf of my husband, Huw Edwards, following five extremely difficult days for our family,” Vicky Flind said on Wednesday. Her husband suffers from “serious psychological problems” and is now “being treated as an inpatient in the hospital, where he will remain for the foreseeable future”.
For their part, the London police announced on Wednesday evening that there was no evidence that a criminal offense had been committed in the case. BBC star Jeremy Vine urged the presenter on a TV show to make his identity public to prevent further damage to the broadcaster’s reputation.
