The College of Mayor and Aldermen of Wolwe-Saint-Lambert has decided to lodge an appeal with the Brussels government in the coming days once morest the urban planning permit issued for the construction of an extension to the buildings of the Woluwe Shopping Center.
A first permit application, submitted in 2019 to the Brussels Region by the company Eurocommercial, owner of the Shopping, provided for the construction of an extension to this building and the creation of 95 housing units above the shops.
Following a public inquiry and the unfavorable opinion of the municipality, Eurocommercial modified its original plans but following a new public inquiry, the College of the municipality once more issued an unfavorable opinion in December 2022, recalls the press release. published on Wednesday by the Brussels municipality.
The latter considers that the modifications remain insufficient and do not meet the objectives of the “Saint-Lambert” eco-district in the development phase. The College is also concerned regarding the construction of a new 2-storey underground car park, in an area with a medium to high flood hazard.
